Kujira no Hara

Kujira no Hara is an action-adventure-puzzle videogame inspired by the Zelda series (in particular: Minish Cap and Link's Awakening) and Jak&Daxter.
Kujira no Hara tells the story of a child who gets swallowed by a giant whale. Inside its belly, he discovers an absurd and marvelous world inhabited by zany characters.
The approximate playing time for someone who discovers the game is 50 hours. It contains 7 dungeons. It's already possible to go up to the end of the story, however I regularly make small enhancements. (Especially: these days I'm going through the whole game fixing DeepL French to English translation errors.)
The game is available in English and French.
The graphics are made for the occasion (they are not taken from other games nor common libraries) as well as the soundtrack. It takes time but it gives the game an original and personnal aspect.
The game is free. I'm making it on my free time.

First thank you for playing the game!
Do you remember where/when in the game you encountered this error? That would help me a lot in fixing it! The game is huge, so knowing that a float division error exists somewhere in the game is not enough information, I hope you will understand :S
I check the first 10 minutes of the game each time I release a new version, I also do random stuff with my own save, but did never encounter that one :O
Literally when clicking the game.exe file to start the game :-(
downloaded and unpacked the Kujira_no_Hara_-_2023-11-27_-_demo_7.0.17 zip file and double click the game.exe file.
game window opens , with black screen, stuff seems to be loading according to my cursor spinning wheel,
and after like 3-4 seconds, the error pops up
for info, I have windows 10 and some like 8 year old notebook, maybe it's my old hardware or such :-/

I've got an idea! Are you sure that you've installed the FONT provided in the game folder? It's called "Hippopotame.ttf". If the font is not installed, the game fails to calculate the length of the text. This could be the cause of your problem!
I just added a warning message to the game in case the game font is not installed, so that other players won't encounter the same unintelligible error message as you. This will be available in the next release.
The simpler the better, so I'll have to think of a way to directly use the font present in the game folder without bothering the player with font installations -_-
Yeah,ou are right. I totally forgot to isntall the font, now it workd without any issues :-)
Currently just took a glimpse against those used pantieds that I am about to collect.
But different statue rooms currently really make me wanna take a pause, I am jsut really not good at those :-/
Yeah the puzzles of this game are quite difficult.
